The digital era has transformed the landscape of social movements and activism, enabling individuals and groups to organize, communicate, and mobilize on a scale previously unimaginable. This paper explores the ways in which technology has reshaped traditional forms of activism and the emergence of novel digital movements. It examines the impact of social media platforms on the dissemination of information, the coordination of protests, and the formation of online communities. The paper further analyzes the challenges that digital activism faces, such as online harassment, misinformation, and the potential for co-optation by political actors. By drawing on case studies from recent global events, the paper argues that while the digital era has expanded the reach and influence of social movements, it has also introduced complex new dynamics that necessitate a reevaluation of traditional activism strategies.
