Abstract

The paper delves into the interdisciplinary field of Environmental Humanities, focusing on the intersection of ecocriticism and sustainability. It argues that environmental humanities provide a unique lens through which to understand and address environmental challenges. By examining literature, art, and other cultural expressions, ecocriticism uncovers the ways in which humans interact with the natural world and the impact of these interactions on ecosystems. The paper discusses the importance of sustainability within the environmental humanities framework, highlighting the need for holistic approaches that consider the social, economic, and ecological dimensions of environmental problems. Through an analysis of case studies, the paper demonstrates how ecocritical perspectives can inform and enhance sustainability initiatives, leading to a more holistic understanding of environmental issues and the potential for positive change.
