This paper delves into the intricate interplay of space, power, and identity within urban settings. It examines how urban spaces are not merely physical constructs but are imbued with meanings and purposes shaped by socio-political dynamics. The study argues that power relations are not uniform across different urban spaces and that they influence the formation of identities, both individual and collective. Through an analysis of various urban environments, this paper explores the ways in which power structures, such as governance, economy, and culture, shape the perception and experience of space. It further examines how individuals and groups navigate these spaces to establish and assert their identities, often in conflict with dominant narratives. The research highlights the importance of recognizing the agency of marginalized communities in redefining urban spaces and the implications of this for urban policy and planning. The conclusion suggests that understanding the complex relationships between space, power, and identity is crucial for creating inclusive and equitable urban environments.
